Sid the Kid is Canada's Hero...AGAIN!

The game was tense from the beginning. Canada drew first blood when Johnny Toews scored in the first period. Then, Corey Perry cut the wound deeper. Canada began to think this was going to be their game. However, in the second period, Ryan Kessler scored, letting the Canucks know that America wasn't dead yet! Then, the tension was almost unbearable. The American's were hounding Luongo with slap-shot after slap-shot. Luongo stood all of them up, except the very last one. Zach Parise shoved one in, and with only about 24 seconds left, everyone knew it was going into overtime. Overtime came with a cry for blood on both sides. Canada took the initiative and kept crashing the net of Ryan Miller (who has every right to be proud, even though I'm a Penguin fan, he's earned a lot of respect in my eyes). Miller kept making amazing plays. Then, with 7:40 left, Sid the Kiddo was given a pass by Jerome Iginla. Sidney Crosby stormed the net and it went in. Sid is the Hero again! He's at the tip of the mountain peak now. He always wanted to win the Stanley cup...he did. He always wanted to win the gold for Canada...he did! What's next for Sid...a girlfriend? I don't think so quite yet. He's too in love with his Stanley cup and gold metal. But wait ladies, the time is not too far off!

Canada ices Russia

Canada beat Russia last night 7-3...it was truly an embarrassment for Russia. One of our Pens guys, Gonch, scored a nice slap shot. However, poor Geno was stone-walled by Luongo. How 'bout that "Lu-ing"-eh?  Although our boy Sid didn't score, he played well. He made some nice hits and opened a lot of lanes.
One of the announcers interviewed Ovie earlier that day. He told Ovie that he thought he was the best player in the world and Ovie thanked him. Then, the announcer asked Ovie who he thought was the best player. He tried to pass by it by saying, "Well, some people are good today, some are good tomorrow."
The announcer asked him who he thought was the best player now.
"Well, people are saying, 'Who  best player?' I think best player me, " he said in broken English. I beg to differ! Although Ovechkin is a good guy, Sidney is a better team player and an all-around classy guy. And...who's got the ring (and the Olympic win as well)?

O Say Can You See?

Canada lost to USA this Sunday. It was a shocker to those Canucks, but not for us Yanks. Even, though I'm American through and through, I was leaning towards Canada (as were many Penguin fans). There was some humorous Penguins rivalary, however, between Brooks Orpix and Sidney Crosby.

However, our boy Sid the Kid scored at the end of the third period giving Canada new hope. But, the American's dash those hopes by scoring an open-netter and winning the game 5-3.

Crosby Wins in a shootout!

The game was tied 2-2. The goalies were on their game and were stonewalling their opponents. The game went into a overtime. Crosby was the first man up-he missed. Then, Towes and the another dude (who's name escapes me). The goalies were clean. Then, Crosby comes up again and WHAM! He shoots, he scores!  After, he said he missed the first one because he was being, "too cute!" HA! It's OK Sid! We love you even when you're too cute! ...Is that possible?

Canada Vs. Norway

Canada Crushed Norway..8-0! Our own boy, Sid the Kid had three assists! Go Sid the Kid! Dany Heatley and Jarome Iginla led the scoring for the Canadians with two goals a piece while Mike Richards, Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf, and Rick Nash all scored one goal a piece. Sidney Crosby led all players with three points, all assists! Yeah!

Oh No Oksana!

Malkin's long-time Russian Girlfriend Oksana Kondakova and he broke up! They were once engaged before Malkin came to America. Apparently, they met in a bar. She was married at the time, but divorced her husband so she could be with Geno. I heard rumors that he is now with  a Canadian girl who speaks fluent Russian and French! So if you want a chance with Geno...learn to speak Russian! She's probably a blond, for "Blonds make him feel something brunettes just can't." LOL!

O Canada!

The Winter Olympics are coming up and I'm physicked! Of course I'm rooting for my home country, America. But still...gotta love those Canadians!  I think the top three are going to be 1.Canada 2.Russia 3.USA. I think the Swedish have a chance too. Now, in woman's, I think USA is goin' all of the way! I think Sid looks absolutely fabulously manly in his red attire...the color goes well with him...don't ya think?

Sport's Illustrated...Destiney's Child

Sidney Crosby is on the cover of Sport's Illustrated Canada.   It's amazing what  Sid has gone through to become great! He is so driven that he's become a perfectionist. Talbot says, "Every special talent has to be a little crazy, and he's definitely crazy." I literally laughed like crazy when I heard Colby Armstrong's (former roommate, now with the Thrashers) comment on Crosby. He describes him as having, "Huge legs and a massive booty!" HA! I also find it amazing how jealous people can become. When Crosby was 14, he was so good that the other player's parents were very jealous of him; they would say things like I hope you break your neck!" and "I hope you get killed!" They'd tease and mock Crosby so much that he'd cry. The tormenting became so bad, that they had to send him to America for a year. But Crosby grew from those experiences and became more determined to do better. Which shows what an awesome player he really is. When he came home to Forrest Hill, Cole Harbour Nova Scotia, he played a game of roller hockey with his best childhood friends. He';s such a selfless and caring guy; he made sure his friends got a chance to parade the cup around. Crosby's life is obviously centered around hockey. He carries his father's dreams, Pittsburgh's dreams and now Canada's dreams on his shoulders...a heavy load for anyone to carry. However, he does it with determination and appreciation for those who believe in him. Which brings me to my own quote I thought up about him....Dream, Crosby did.

The Mad Hatter

At the game last night, Penguins VS the Sabers, Crosby scored a hat trick in the second period alone! His look after he scored the third goal was priceless. It spoke, "Oh yeah...I'm the man!" Not in a cocky way, but in a sense of accomplishment way. Jordan Staal was playing awesome two with a goal and many game winning plays. Flower did his part and stood up against the Sabers offense. Overall, it was a great game and a great team effort! Can't wait 'till Saturday!
And that's why I call him...The Mad Hatter! Mwahhaa haaa!
The Wizard Of Cros strikes again!
