Penguins VS. Canucks: Season Opener

Hockey season has arrived! 5 minutes into the the first period, the Penguins had a power-play and James Neal scored, assisted by Gino Malkin and Letang. Then, only 7 minutes later, the Penguins got asnother power-play and Cookie scored assisted by Dupuis. The Canucks scored only 4 minutes later making the score 2-1. The second period came in with a roar, Cookie scored a short-handed goal only 3 minutes in. He was assisted by Jordan Staal and Letang. The Penguins slacked a little and Keith Ballard shot one in,assisted by Henrik Sedin  and Daniel Sedin. The score is now 3-2. 10 minutes later,  Daniel Sedin scored assisted by Henrik Sedin and Sami Salo They game went into overtime with no score on wither side. Then, comes the shootout.Pens win 4-3.

winter classic

After a long break over some personal issues...this lady has returned! Haha.

Now, as you all know, the Winter Classic is comming up. This is the biggest game of the year besides the Stanley Cup folks! Sid the Kid and Ovie go head2head again in this battle of the champions. Sidney Crosby has been doin absolutly AMAZING lately!!! My hat goes off to him in reverence.

Winter Classic Update

This just in, Winter Classic 2011 will be held Saturday January 1rst at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh!  Guess what? It's verses the Capitals! Mad cool-eh? 

 Sid VS. Ovie again! Bring it on!

Penguins VS. Canadiens Game 7: Proud of Our Boys

The game started out weird. Ten seconds into the game Crosby got called for driving Josh Gorges into the boards. "I was stunned," Crosby said,  "I don't know how that's a penalty 10 seconds into the game."

The Habs capitalized on that and Brian Gionta scored. This were looking scary. Then, Dominic Moore scored and I knew our boys were not going to win this year.  In the second period Mike Cammallari and Travis Moen scored.

It was the beginning of the end. But then, Kunie and Staal scored...could we make this happen. A four on three starting the their period made us gain fresh hope. But that hope was short-lived. Halak wasn't human...he was a machine and Flower was not on his A-game last night.

Brian Gionta scored again driving the dagger deeper. At the end of the game, the crowedcheered louder than I've ever heard them. “The crowd and the way that they responded when we were down 4-0 was pretty incredible,” Crosby said. “I think that we can almost say thank you for that. We appreciate it. That’s the loudest that I ever heard it. It’s not the way that we wanted to finish here, but they should be proud in the way that they supported us here for sure.”

Our boys are crestfallen and wounded. But I am PROUD of our boys and am looking forward to next season...next year IS OUR YEAR!!!

When you fall down on the journey up the mountain, the disappointment of not making it to the top makes it difficult to appreciate just how far you have gotten.

Dear Penguin Family,


Don't leave the Igloo with your tail between your legs. You played a good season and I'm proud of you guys. Yes, you lost, and I can only imagine how much it hurts. However, use this defeat as a learning experience. You are going to lose a few guys next season, but don't worry, you're going to gain some new ones as well. Next season, come out with a WAR CRY! Check the "bad guys" into the boards, make more screens, connect passes, shoot in the upper corners, shoot more often, and show up to play every game. This year was not our year, the "hockey gods" decreed it as such. I believe in you and our organization, and next year IS OUR YEAR! So don't be discouraged and crestfallen, but stand tall and proud. You are champions in my eyes-win or lose- because of your character, teamwork, and brotherhood. I love you guys and am longing for next season to start already. LET'S GO PENS!!!
